Nambucca Heads Public School Morning Movement Program
The program is designed to teach the 12 fundamental motor skills in a fun practical way.
Focus on one skill for the week: teach the skill in its simplest form and then try one or two activities each day. There are links on how to teach each skill on the term Planner (You Tube) and activities can be found on the Bluearth website (under schools section).
Register and Log in with your email address for the online resource. A basic hard copy will also be available. Each class will have their own equipment and will be responsible for maintaining it. Have fun and join in the activities yourself and ask students reflective questions to reinforce learning.
Students have the opportunity to participate in the lunchtime circus program which is available to all students. The circus program involves activities such as: juggling, plate spinning, devil sticks and pois. These activities improve hand-eye coordination, balancing, focus, concentration and social development.
"The circus program is great for all ages. When a student finally gets a plate spinning or can juggle or can perform the butterfly with pois, they are filled with joy and pride because of their effort and determination." Mr Kenny.
